Hold a competition on a large webmaster forum, these sites can be very active and contain some very talented designers simply put together your ideas for the business card announce a cash prize and watch the designers put in their entries and choose the best one, this way you can pick from multiple designs for the price of one, if you have a high cash prize the chances are you will get more entrants.

2. Search Forums/Sites for recommendations, the Internet is a wealth of knowledge and if you are looking for a business card design then you should use this to your advantage, people always like to recommend good designers & designers always show off their latest works of art.

3. When you find the right designer always ask them to do more than one mock up of your idea, tell them you want to see the design in different colors and fonts, this way you can mix and match the ones you like and give the designer a better idea of exactly what you want.
